Kristen Anne Bell (born July 18, 1980)[1] is an American actor and singer from the United States. Beginning her acting career by playing in stage productions during her time studying at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, she made her Broadway stage debut in the role of Becky Thatcher in the comedy musical The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and appeared in a Broadway revival of The Crucible the following year. After appearing in the action-thriller Spartan (2004) in 2004, she was praised for her performance in Gracie's Choice (2004). She then made her stage debut on Broadway as Becky thatcher in the comedy musical The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Later she was cast as a character in the television show for teenagers, Veronica Mars (2004). Her performance received critical acclaim and a Saturn Award nomination for Best Actress on TV. The role that she played in the 2014 movie was changed and it was revived for the 2019. In the course of her work in Veronica Mars, Bell starred as Mary Lane in the musical film Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical (2005), which was a reprise of the role she been in the New York musical of the same name.Bell played the role of Elle Bishop in the superhero drama series Heroes from 2007 until the year 2008. She voiced the titular narrator in the teen drama series Gossip Girl, reprising the role in the 2021 sequel. Bell also appeared as Jeannie van der Hooven who played the female lead on the Showtime comedy series House of Lies. Bell was the lead character Eleanor Shellstrop, the leading part of the critically-acclaimed NBC comedy show The Good Place. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award. Bell played the character of Eleanor Shellstrop on the streaming show The Woman in the Home The Girl in the Window Across the Street Girl in the Window.
